From the post I published earlier today…
Well, you see, I didn’t exactly write it down…
I do that with recipes sometimes…throw things in a bowl and see what happens.
Here’s what I did…(measurements are approximate)
Step 1: Put 2 Tablespoons yeast in large bowl with 2 teaspoons sugar
Step 2: Warm 2 Cups 2% milk. Add to yeast and sugar and let sit for 15 – 20 minutes, until yeast dissolves.
Step 3: Melt 2/3 Cup butter. Add to yeast mixture.
Step 4: Add about a tablespoon of salt, maybe a little more
Step 5: Mix in 2 – 3 Cups flour, to form a batter
Step 6: Let batter sit for up to ½ hour in warm place
Step 7: Add enough flour to make a soft, pliable dough, kneading in more as necessary, but not too much.
Step 8: Grease bowl with butter, set bread dough inside. Cover with linen towel and let rise for 2 – 3 hours in a warm place
Step 9: Punch down dough & make bread into round rolls; place them in baking dish sprayed with non-stick, close together
Step 10: Let rise for nearly an hour
Step 11: Brush with scrambled raw egg
Step 12: Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit until golden brown on top (40 – 60 minutes or so)
Big, flaky, melt-in-your-mouth rolls…
Must admit, these are positively delicious!
Until next time, I wish you well,
