There is no “i” in teamwork. However, there is an “i” in family. Each person must become the unique individual he or she is meant to be, all the while, being prepared to sacrifice as necessary for the community as a whole – both words (sacrifice & community) being spelled with the letter “i” incidentally.
We were not created as team members, yet we are grouped, drawn together in turn. Ours is to be who we are, building each other up through our individual qualities and unique personalities, which hopefully create the world of our dreams while we are here.
It is not an easy task to be an individual. Yet, the alternative is capable of killing us in the very depths of our souls. We must be who we are, particularly when we engage in groups. We must enhance community with our individual presence, engage family with our insightful genius and inspire the world with our reason for being.
