Letters to Self: Energy Equals Accomplishment

Letters to Self is a Self-help series written by M. J. Joachim, designed to encourage and promote healing and self-awareness for those who read it.

Dear Self,

Man, are you full of energy! I’ve never seen someone so entertained by simple little pleasures. Your goal was never to climb Mount Everest or become the big career woman. So many people thought you were selling yourself short over the years. You knew that wasn’t the case, and remained true to yourself.

Now you have a fine family to show for it. That’s not to say you didn’t do anything else throughout your life. I’m sure if you really think about it, you can come up with a long list of amazing accomplishments. Your family, work, hobbies, volunteer work, and the many ways you take care of yourself are all wonderful qualities worth bragging about.

Like I said, you’re full of energy. Remember to slow down and take care of yourself. It’s easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of it all, but if you don’t take care of yourself, refilling your own fuel tank as necessary, you’ll soon find none of it was worth it, and you’ll be too darned tired to care anyway.

Breathe! Always remember to breathe and enjoy the journey!
