Letters to Self: Verify Your Own Goodness

Letters to Self is a Self-help series written by M. J. Joachim, designed to encourage and promote healing and self-awareness for those who read it.

Dear Self,

Vibrant, vivacious and full of life… This is the veritable you God gave to the world.

I know it’s not always easy to think this way about yourself, but it’s true. You are a gift to this world and you deserve to be your own gift to yourself too.

Sometimes you don’t always see or believe in your good qualities. That’s okay. We all need checks and balances, to keep ourselves humble in this world. That’s not an excuse to never believe in your good qualities, however. It’s a cop out, and you know better than to violate your own personal worth consistently.

Verily I say to you, vacate the violent tendencies you impose upon yourself. You’re too good of a gift, to be wasted on vile personal messages, which serve only to vindicate those who want and choose to be miserable in this world. I love you too much for that.

Love,

Self
